Hodder Media Inc. happened (almost) by accident.

Hodder Media Inc. was founded in 2009 by Anne Hodder-Shipp as the first PR and marketing firm to specialize exclusively in sex toys, sexual wellness, and pleasure brands. (And we still do that!) Since then, we’ve continued to expand with forward-thinking, progressive offerings.

In 2015, we launched Everyone Deserves Sex Ed (EDSE), an organization that provides sex education to teens and parents, but also sex education trainings and certification for professionals in the field. A year later, our founder opened her coaching and education private practice.

In 2020, S3X Plus was launched to offer personal development and self-care courses and events. Just a year later, Shoebox Press debuted as a boutique imprint that exclusively publishes work from independent authors and artists. Its most famous offering to date is The 18 Modern Love Languages.

And in 2025, we debuted two new properties:

Everyone Deserves Sex Therapy (EDST) to give progressive, socially conscious clinicians a source for essential professional development and sex therapy certification.

And The Impact Agency, a PR, creative marketing, and business development agency for bold, ambitious, & trailblazing brands that traditional agencies don’t quite “get.”
